Stuff@night magazine
This magazine was art direction boot camp for me, as I was one of three editorial staffers. We published bi-weekly, which meant every issue was started and completed within a ten day window. Covering the local fashion + entertainment scene meant plenty of opportunity for shooting on location, hiring local talent, and getting creative with a tiny budget and my own two hands.

The Boston Phoenix alternative newsweekly
This was my introduction to Boston, having just moved from Eugene, Oregon where I was first exposed to the world of alternative newsweeklies as editorial designer at Eugene Weekly. Our commitment to ‘living the lifestyle’ as well as designing for it, made for an interesting work/life balance. I met many freelance illustrators and photographers that I still work with today. Occasionally, my own illustrations could be seen on various covers.
